Energy Healing Vs. Traditional Medicine

Is there a place for energy healing within traditional medicine?

Traditional medicine is mostly directed towards treating symptoms rather than the root cause of disease. The energy healing I do is considered holistic because I look at the whole person in an effort to treat the underlying cause of a disease.

Energy healing and traditional medicine represent two distinct approaches to healthcare. One is not better than the other as they both fulfill different needs. If you break a bone, you’re not going to go to an energy healer and if you need help processing emotions, you’re not going to go to the hospital.

Energy healing is based on the belief that imbalances or blockages in the body’s energy field can contribute to physical, emotional, and mental health issues. Energy healers work with subtle energy to restore balance and promote healing.

Traditional medicine, on the other hand, is rooted in scientific evidence, diagnosis, and treatment of specific diseases or conditions using pharmaceuticals, surgeries, or other conventional medical interventions.

I believe that both approaches have their advantages and, in many cases, they actually overlap. Say, for example, someone is diagnosed with Bipolar or Schizophrenia. These are very serious mental health illnesses that rarely improve without the assistance of pharmaceutical medications. In addition, there is evidence that when people go off their medications the majority of people relapse.

However, the combination of medications, talk therapy, and Body Code Healing is the ultimate combination for reestablishing well-being and a higher quality of life!

Along my journey I have met many different people with different views. Some believe that Traditional Medicine is the only way to go and all alternative therapies are woo-woo. While others on the other side believe that “Big Pharma” is a conspiracy to medicate and numb the masses while pulling in billions of dollars. And then, of course, there are the religious fanatics that believe all you need is God.

Like most things, the answer is usually somewhere in the middle. Energy healers work with the subtle energies such as Chi, Jing, Shen, among others, to promote healing. Emotion Code and the Body Code practitioners are not the only ones that help others in this way. Reiki and acupuncture are known to be effective almost everywhere around the world.

While energy healers focus on the subtle energies, Traditional Medicine focuses on the biochemical and physiological mechanisms of the body, addressing illnesses and conditions through the use of medications, surgeries, physical therapies, and other evidence-based interventions.

As I stated before, instead of taking sides, as so many people love to do, try to walk the middle-path; both energy healing and traditional medicine can be looked at in a Venn diagram where it’s not always just one or the other, but rather, there are situations where both can be utilized together to maximize ones well-being.

Increasingly, there is recognition of the potential benefits of integrating energy healing with traditional medicine. Some healthcare systems and practitioners are open to incorporating complementary approaches to enhance patient care. This integration can occur when patients seek energy healing alongside traditional medical treatments, with open communication and collaboration between healthcare providers and energy healers.
